No. Rice absorbs almost nothing from inside a sealed phone — it just wastes the critical 48-hour window while corrosion spreads across the board. Switch the phone off, don't charge it, and get it professionally cleaned as fast as you can.
How much does water damage repair cost?+
The ultrasonic clean and diagnostic service is a fixed price per model (see the table on this page — typically £69–£89). If components need replacing we quote that separately before doing any work, and it's no-fix-no-fee if the phone can't be saved.
My phone works after getting wet — am I in the clear?+
Not necessarily. Corrosion is progressive: phones often work for days or weeks after a dunk, then fail as corrosion reaches something critical. If it got properly wet, a preventative clean is far cheaper than the board repair later.
Is water damage covered by my warranty?+
Liquid damage isn't covered by manufacturer warranties or by refurbished-device warranties (including ours) — indicators inside the phone show liquid contact. That's exactly why acting fast on a proper clean matters: it's the cheap intervention.
How long does water damage treatment take?+
