This policy explains what personal information Optimise Marketplace collects, why, and your rights over it. The data controller is Optimise Marketplace Limited (company number 16803603), registered office 142 Thornes Lane, Wakefield, England, WF2 7RE, contact: support@optimisemarketplace.com.
What we collect
- Order information: your name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number, and details of what you bought. Payments are processed by our payment providers — we never see or store your full card details.
- Communications: messages you send us by WhatsApp, email, or through the site, so we can help you and keep a record of what was agreed.
- Trade-in and repair information: details of your device, including IMEI/serial number, which we check against industry databases to confirm the device isn't lost or stolen.
- Website data: basic analytics about how the site is used (see Cookies below).
Why we use it
- To fulfil your orders, trade-ins, and repairs, and to provide customer support (performance of a contract).
- To meet legal obligations — tax records, fraud prevention, and stolen-device checks.
- To send you marketing only if you've opted in — and every message includes an easy way to opt out.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the business: our ecommerce platform (Shopify), payment processors, delivery carriers (e.g. Royal Mail), WhatsApp (Meta) for customer messaging, and our fulfilment partners — who receive only what's needed to fulfil your order. We never sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
Order and transaction records are kept for 6 years to meet tax and legal requirements. Support conversations are kept for 2 years. Data we no longer need is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@optimisemarketplace.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

The site uses essential cookies (required for the shop, basket, and checkout to work) and, with your consent, analytics cookies that help us understand how the site is used.
