Samsung screen replacement: real costs, and why it's dearer than iPhone
The first thing Samsung owners notice when they crack a screen: the quotes are higher than their mates paid for an iPhone repair, sometimes much higher. It isn't the shop trying it on — it's how Samsung builds phones, and it changes the repair-or-replace maths in ways worth understanding before you spend.
Why Galaxy screens cost more
On most Galaxy models the AMOLED panel comes bonded to the frame as a single service part — you're buying screen-plus-chassis, not just glass and display. And unlike iPhone, there's no mature mid-market of decent third-party panels for most models: it's Samsung's part or a poor imitation. That puts real screen prices at £110–£130 for the A-series, £150–£240 for S-series flagships.
Our full fixed price list per model is on the Samsung repair page — published up front, because the counter-quote game is worst exactly where parts are dearest.
The A-series honesty check
A £120 screen on a Galaxy A15 that's worth £90 working is not a repair, it's a donation. This is where we'll tell you straight: on budget A-series handsets, check the phone's working value before re-screening it. Often the smarter route is trading it in — cracked phones still carry value — and putting the money toward a refurbished Galaxy with a warranty.
S-series flagships are the opposite story: an S23 or S24 is comfortably worth re-screening, keeps its value, and the repair carries our 24-month screen warranty.
Foldables: the repair most shops won't take
Z Flip and Z Fold screens are their own category — inner folding displays are the most complex (and priciest) screen repair in phones, £270–£690 depending on model, with parts built to order over 3–5 days. Most high-street shops simply turn them away. We don't: inner screens, outer cover screens, or both together at a combined price, all listed on the screen replacement page.

How much does a Samsung screen replacement cost in the UK?+
Real prices for quality panels: £110–£130 for Galaxy A-series, £150–£240 for S-series flagships, £270–£690 for Z Flip/Fold inner screens. Every model's fixed price is published on our Samsung repair page.
Why are Samsung screens more expensive than iPhone screens?+
Samsung's AMOLED panels ship bonded to the frame as one part, and there's no decent third-party panel market for most models — so the genuine-quality part simply costs more. Cheap Galaxy screen quotes almost always mean a poor imitation panel.
Is a cracked Galaxy A-series phone worth repairing?+
Sometimes not — when the screen price rivals the phone's working value, trading it in cracked and buying refurbished is the better spend, and we'll tell you so before taking the booking.
